The Government of Life analyses the bio- and psycho-politics at play in contemporary city design and planning. Through initiative design workshops focused on a ground-up narrative, we aim to build a deeper understanding of our right to the city and explore how cities can be designed with humans of all abilities and natures in mind, while also addressing how these outcomes can be future-proofed in our precarious times.
Rudi-Lee McCarthy is a Dublin-based artist whose practice merges sociology and design to confront urban and social challenges at a human scale. Rooted from his research in Finnmark and Paris, he has developed a revitalised form of art sociologique that now sets out to expand into “living labs,” bridging art and STEM to imagine new, collective approaches to the city.
